創作理念
Artistic Concept

在異地生活與工作,總是不經意的想起,生命中曾經停留過的地方,出現在眼前的種種。各種變化中的移動是生活的方式,然而個體身分不明的漂流狀態,始終在尋求定錨的他方,理想的生存位置。在無數次往返及離散間,當中有許多矛盾和衝突,不同點對點的移動,窗外的風景,是我快速尋找自身位置的方式,也是視覺首先開啟對話的影像系統。


While working and living away from home, memories from my days spent in different places often flash before my eyes. The movement of all kinds of changes is the way of life, but the unknown drifting state of the individual identity is always seeking the anchoring of the other side, the ideal place to live.There have been countless ironies and conflicts in my countless trips traveling and forth from home; the scenes I witness outside the windows during these travels have become a fast way for me to identify my footing. They also become a graphic system for my visual conversations.


每個人都經常在觀看風景,或甚至是把它當作文本來閱讀,它提供觀者閱讀和解釋訊息的想像媒介。風景成為影像的來源,進而看到自身的相對位置。我想在其中追求一種身為人的存在感,在眾多變動空間與移動的條件下,緩慢地繪出屬於某些位置不明確的人們的風景座標。當觀者成為一個旅程的主宰,作品則提供了觀者一個轉換的中介空間,即移居旅程的自我概念投入。

Everyone looks at scenes often; some even read into these scenes like books. They provide a medium for imagination for the viewers to read and convey meanings from them. Scenes become a source of images, which allows me to see my relative location from them. I want to pursue an existential meaning for being a human from these scenes, and I slowly paint these scenic coordinates for people with uncertain locations, while being surrounded by so many variable space and movements. When a viewer becomes a dominant factor in a length of travel, my works will provide a medium, an agent, for the viewer so that the viewer can dedicate his/her own identity into the trip. 


以自然景色投射整體社會的生命情境焦慮,在緩慢堆疊的墨色裡,描繪出混沌又指涉的曖昧關係,凝練出屬於這個世代對自身處境的幻景,暫歇的美好歡愉。融合寧靜柔軟又細密堅實的飄移,隱約中卻有更多語彙訴說著看似理想卻無奈的現實。

My works reflect on the anxiety in life through natural scenes, and through slowly layering on the ink, convoluted and metaphoric ambiguities is depicted to form visions of this generation on their own surroundings and momentary glee. Tranquil, soft, yet fine and firm drifting is blended, yet faintly, more words silently tell of the harsh reality that may appear to be idealistic at first glance.


希望能打破既有的繪畫常模去看待筆墨,企圖創造更多的虛實交疊,從風景意象中探尋更多敘事可能以參與觀者的視覺想像。

I hope to break the existing painting models and to grant new perspective on ink and wash painting. I strive to blend more virtual reality and to seek for more story-telling possibilities in natural scenes and to partake in the visual imagination of the viewers.
